Lynn & Brad, 08.29.09

Molly and I had the pleasure of photographing my niece’s wedding in Michigan this past weekend. The main concern leading up to the big event was whether it would be blazing hot sitting in the unshaded garden where the ceremony was to be held.  Not to worry: with the temperature in the low 60’s and 30 – 40 mph winds, there was a definite windchill to contend with!  But, as with all weddings, nothing could put a damper on this lovely affair which was held at Fox Hills Country Club in Plymouth, Michigan.    …and, as I always tell my brides: “you won’t be able to tell in the photos that you were freezing cold”! (except in the photo where the women wore the men’s jackets to keep warm).

As I experienced with Molly’s wedding in May, it is so emotional to photograph a family member’s wedding. It seems like just yesterday that baby Lynn learned to walk at my house when my brother’s family visited us in Minnesota. And now here we are… the day Lynn walks down the aisle to become Mrs. Johnson. sigh…..

Congratulations to Lynn and Brad. Enjoy your honeymoon in Mexico and we can’t wait to share all the photos with you!

The Inn has a beautiful inner courtyard with stone steps, ivy, and a waterfall and pond that we used for photos. Also, it helped shelter us from the wind!

By this time, it got SO cold and windy - and was threatening rain - that all the wedding party wanted to do was go inside and get warm! ...and the guys wanted their jackets back!

  1. Lynn was of course beautiful! My two favorites are the round stone path with Lynn and Brad standing in the inns garden (I’ll order a 5X7 off that please!) and the girls looking ever so COLD with the guys coats on… after the wedding by the bridge. Great job again Jan and Molly!!

Jan, I forgot Lynn learned to walk at 10 1/2 monthls old while visiting you., the plane ride home was not easy with her wanting to walk not sit on my lap. 5. What can we say but, wow! Brad and I both enjoyed our honeymoon it was a blast however, we were very eager to get home and look at the wedding pictures. What an awesome team you two make in the photography business. We wanted to thank you Aunt Jan and Molly for the sneak peak of the wedding photos.
